To educate myself as a developer in the modern development languages, I followed various 'specializations' via Coursera:
- Advanced Django: Mastering Django and Django Rest Framework - this specialization covers everything from developing complex Django applications to the Django REST framework to task queues. These topics allow to create advanced websites that integrate with popular APIs and popular JavaScript frameworks, and provide in-depth knowledge of Django to tackle more specialized projects.
- Django for Everybody - this specialization introduces Python programmers to building websites using the Django library. In four courses, students gain solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, SQL, Django, JavaScript, jQuery and JSON web services.
- Web Design for Everybody: Basics of Web Development & Coding - this specialization covers how to write syntactically correct HTML5 and CSS3 and how to create interactive web experiences with JavaScript.
- Applied Data Science with Python - this specialization focuses on developing data science skills using the Python programming language. The course teaches Python programmers to apply statistical techniques, machine learning, information visualization, text analysis and social network analysis techniques through popular Python libraries such as pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn, nltk and networkx to provide insight into large amounts of data.

Various organizations
Worked as a (lead) developer for various organizations. Started as a systems analyst at bank Mees & Hope (MeesPierson) in combination with training courses from Volmac Top Trainings (CapGemini). During this period I was mainly involved in developing and maintaining information systems using Cobol/CICS and Adabas/Natural. Subsequently, as a developer at Itresco Consultants, I worked on the development of information systems in Cobol with DB2/IDMS as a database for, among others, Delta Lloyd (NN). Finally, as a developer at Pilot Software, I built information systems in 4-GL (fourth generation languages) for Heineken and Vopak.
